So...Just a Random Question...

I have a category for every author, so when I need a specific type of fic I know where to go and why. For example, if I want Jensen to be an asshole that realizes his mistakes and redeems himself I go to fatebegins, if I want something really deep and surprising in the way of RPS I pick nyxocity, and if I want super hot porn with a lot of love involved I go to justinedelarge. Which isn't to say these authors don't do other things, but I'm one of those people that categorize and list, so yeah...

So two questions, and one of them is entirely for an ego purpose. Does anyone else do this, and if so what's my category if I have one?

I've never thought about categorizing like that. I join comms that give me what I'm looking for and have those all bookmarked in a folder. And authors I enjoy over and over whether the fic is old or new I bookmark too, in their own little folder.

I guess I just got to thinking about it last night as I was finally writing porn again, and it was all so nostalgic, and then came the question, What kind of writer am I?

I dunno... I just finished housework instead of papers work. Now I have to do that second one. Stupid school...

I totally categorize authors in my head that way. Not on purpose, it just kinda happens.

Your category? Hmmm...I would say "fic with a good plot and great characterization that is gonna make me think."

lol, I had to just comment as I was scanning thru this post that I have been cleaning out and organizing my "memories" today, and clicked on one tagged "infidelity",and it was this story, and I instantly remembered how much that story broke my heart and messed me all up and put me back together. That story played a number on my head, and I could NEVER read it again, but I also couldn't delete it, so there is sits. A favorite, but...

I just kind of flail around until I hit something good. And nyxocity happens to have written some of my fav stories. Until You're Resting Here With Me changed my life! Well, maybe not changed my life, but made me cry and laugh and yadda-yadda. I fangirled that fic pretty damn hard.

If I were to put you in my non-existent categories, you'd go under "really smart stories about Sam/Dean".

Oh man, that one and "Who Watches Over Me" are probably...I just stare in wonder. Just wonder. If she ever finishes the Dexter based one I think I'll fall down. It's like everything she does is just perfectly balanced between emotionally twisty and sexually tense, and once you start you can't stop until you get to the end.
